Tommy Bowden
Clemson University Head
Football Coach
“Upward Flag Football provides kids an opportunity to
play football in a non-contact structure. The purpose
of Upward sports ministries is to promote salvation,
character and self-esteem to every player. Their
desire is to help every player understand and enjoy
sports by teaching basic fundamentals and principles.
While
contact football, if taught properly, is a safe sport,
a lot of parents do not want their young children to
play a contact sport. If you are one of these
parents, Upward Flag Football may be an alternative
for your child. It would teach the basics for future
participation in contact football.
Participation in sports not only helps to build
self-esteem but it also teaches the players to work
together as a team. I feel this is a vital key for
success not only on the field but in the game of
life.”
